Nicholas Wannamaker

Art Fiend/Nostalgia Junky

A current student, Nicholas is working on gaining more of an understanding of who he is as an individual, as well as a designer and artist. Nicholas has great aim and attention on acquiring the skills needed to allow his ideas to come to life.

Usually working with acrylic paints, and more analog mediums, Nicholas has begun to explore the concepts of design and art by presently building on his skills with more computer-based applications like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. With this experience he knows it will help to extend the depth of his design experience and creativity.

Nicholas has come to acknowledge and accept that a career in fashion is what he wants. He has experienced employment in screen-printing shops working on the production floor, understands the screen-printing process, and has operated embroidery machines. It was during this time that he took his first shot at making a brand – a point of focus to build ideas around. It was dubbed DimeBagCrew. After three years of doing this kind of work he was constantly developing new concepts and designs, all without any formal education with respect to fashion and design. Nicholas had a passion that made up for the lack of institutional experience, but he knew in order to go further and be able to bring his dream to life, he’d need to pursue further education. Nicholas decided to attend college to try and evolve as an individual and to get closer to the life he wanted.

Now, Nicholas is attending a Fashion Studies program at Seneca College, with plans of attending the Fashion Arts program. He is very excited to learn from the professors, those with so much experience in the field, and hopes to one day come into his own. Nicholas hopes to obtain an understanding of his style and place within the fashion world. With a passion for the arts and a desire to create, Nicholas wishes to design and produce affordable and wearable apparel and is working very hard to get there.
